A system audit is conducted to establish the logic, features and functionality of an existing system, usually a 'legacy' system, and to determine its relevance to the current business practice. Such audits would normally be conducted prior to proposed re-organisation of the business or the purchase and implementation of new software to determine how the system is best used, integrated, interfaced or scrapped. Typically audits would be conducted using structured methods of analysis and design. Specific physical features are recorded where the nature of the process has a clear impact on the business. The level, logical or physical, at which an audit is conducted, is very dependent on the objectives to be achieved by the audit. The company has successfully undertaken conversions of existing business applications to run on new platforms under different operating environments. | |
